Michael Bond for Senate

Dear Folks:

I want to thank you for the honor and privilege of being able to have served you as your Senator in the General Assembly. I am proud of the many accomplishments that we have successfully completed during my terms, and I hope my successor will continue to serve you all with your best interest at heart.

I need to address the way my Republican opponent and party portrayed me during the primary as being incompetent, feeble-minded, and a sick and old person, and now a sore loser. It’s true I am 88, and I have had my share of health issues, but I am far from incompetent and feeble. My mind works wonderfully and I am still serving my constituents until the end of my term. I am not a sore loser, or a vindictive person, nor will I ever be so.

When my leader of the Senate felt that I would not win over a Democrat, I mentioned this to 3 or 4 people about his comments and that he wanted me to retire. I have always encouraged people to be active in government. I had not hand-picked anyone. In fact, June of 2005 I declared in the paper that I was going to run again, and after attending my fund-raiser in the fall, my Republican opponent decided to run. I have never run a sleazy or unfair campaign, and I refused to do so last March. Please remember….I did not leave the Republican Party, the Republican Party left me.

Therefore, I would like to make sure the 31st district will continue to be properly and honorably represented the next 4 years. I feel that Michael Bond, a father of three, a good husband has the knowledge, energy, and morals, and will serve you with your interest in mind. He will start off not owing any political favors for downstate money. I would feel very proud to see someone so ethical replace me, and I feel Michael Bond will serve you well.

Judy Baar Topinka will make a terrific Governor as she has all the knowledge, and all of the state’s interest at heart, and will be a working Governor who will be there to help solve the many problems we now face.

So please, On November 7th, exercise your constitutional rights and vote, and please make sure the 31st district continues towards excellence.

Kindest personal regards and best wishes to you and yours for continued good health, happiness, and prosperity.

Sincerely,

Adeline Geo-Karis
Senator 31st District
