Illinois State Senate Candidate Michael Bond
Allstate Executive to Run for State Senate Grayslake resident Michael Bond to bring accountability to state government in 31st Senatorial District Grayslake, IL, December 19, 2005 - Grayslake resident and Woodland District 50 School Board Member Michael Bond announces his bid for Illinois State Senate in the 31st District today. The district encompasses the northern portion of Lake County. "I'm running for State Senate because the issues facing our community have a direct impact on my children. The challenges we face in northern Lake County require new leadership that is capable of solving problems", Bond said. "I will address in this campaign the importance of tax fairness, near-term traffic solutions and achieving educational excellence in every Illinois classroom." Bond is a member of the Board of Education for Woodland District 50, Lake County's largest elementary school. Woodland is the 5th largest elementary school district in Illinois with nearly 800 educators serving over 7,200 students. Bond was the leading vote getter in the April school board election. "Local taxpayers do not feel they are getting their money's worth," Bond said. "I will use proven strategies to bring fresh solutions to the problems we face in education and education funding, transportation enhancements for Lake County, and improving economic growth and job opportunities for our area and the state as a whole." Michael Bond brings more than 10 years of business management experience as a Director of Corporate Finance for Northbrook, Illinois based Allstate Insurance Company. It's not often that a candidate comes along with a clear vision for the future, the knowledge, experience and skills to make dreams a reality and the values to shape those dreams for all, not the privileged few. Michael Bond and his wife Jennifer have three children under the age of six. Bond says: "We want what every family wants for their children - an improving quality of life in a safe environment, excellent schools, and improving economic conditions. If elected I promise to work for your children as if they were my own and for you as if you were my family. We’re in this together and together we can make northern Lake County and the State of Illinois the best place in the country to live, work, raise children and do business." Bond earned his Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics in 1992 from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a Masters of Business Administration in 1997 from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Michael Bond is the Democratic candidate for State Senate in the 31st district. Michael Bond for State SenateBiography
